it is, but you have to go to several pound shops to find the right ones.

or go to a catering supply company and buy in bulk.

strictly speaking though , you really shoud be able to pick up any piece of cuttlery and do it.

what i do, is pick up a piece early on, and try it in secret. if its bendable, i bend. if it doesnt bend, i dont.

Its the same as using thread. If the lights right you do, if it's not.. dont.

Have a look at http://www.stephensons.com/product_info ... s_id/67731 - might be worth buying a dozen to try out?

I agree. I've always thought it a little suspicious when the performer brings out their own cuttlery - even with the explanation that venue managers don't like you bending theirs.

If you can pick up a fork from the table and bend it in an impromptu fashion, the impact will be a million times stronger.

As Dale says: if their forks are suitable, bend them, if they're not, do something else.

WHAT A LOAD OF TOSH!!!!

Metal bending is by far my most powerful effect...I watched a dvd of myself performing at a wedding last month...I had to ask my missus when i did the sleight, I cudnt even see myself do it...

Im not using the "normal" method when I bend....Its pretty much magician proof...I can persuade any spec why I carry my own forks...I

I even leave them in the woolworths packs as well so they can see there not gimmiced...

After the performance, if they doubt my forks...Which harldy ever ever happens, I pick up one of their silver ones from their table and put a whacking great big bend in it...They dont argue after that...

I performed to a total magic sceptic at the weekend...you know the ones that hate being tricked and look at all logical reasons behind it, the how and why it works etc...I totally blew the guy away, he said he wants to learn how to do it cos hes never seen anything so, and I quote "genuine" lol...

I cant wait to meet some other benders at a TM meet, when I finally get round to goin to one lol...Im not blowing my own trumpet, but I do think that you will be very interested, from a proffesional performance point of view how I go about bending.......

The reason for my quest for better forks is purely because I had found something that I was very comfortable performing with....It was a strudy fork that looked nice and felt great to handle, the specs have to use a lot of force to bend it, but a Metal bender can make them look like butter, this is why I was deeply sadden by the demise of Woolies...

Cheers for all the link etc though to other forks...Im interested in seeing what tescos has, think Ill pay them a visiti theis savo....

Cheers Folks :D

Cheers, these are great for snapping etc, but pants for a nice tine corkscrew, may get some though for something else however, cheap and cheerful...

I've been on the hunt for a new supplier too.

I checked out the shipping on the Dominion forks from the Amazon.com site and it is, hold on to your hats, £40 if you buy 4 sets of 36.

Overall for 4 packs of 36 forks it will cost £64.

I have this image of someone pole dancing around this, and having it bend between her thighs

I have to agree with Chris - metal bending is a powerful effect when performed correctly and I also don't have any suspicions from specs when I take out a pack of forks. Afterall, they're free to inspect them.

I did a party on Saturday night and bent some forks and that's all people talked about.

Metal bending is something that I've never really tried before but always liked the look of. Where's a good place to get started with it?

I'd recommend starting with Psychokinetic Silverware by Gerry & Banachek
