make your own chris.

This version was marketed by Paul Daniels as a packet trick back in the 1970s. It kind of goes back to the Dutch looper effect sold by Ken Brook, but in that the gaff was stuck on, rather than loose.

you are using glue? There is a tip in my new book on lulu that gets around this problem. ( in fact there are loads of tips hidden in it)
:D

If your constructing things that slip over other things, always use tape, never glue, because your gaff will slip over right to the edge.
Dont use double sided tape, because thats just glorified glue on a roll, but use good old fasioned sellotape for speed, and micropore tape for best.
this is a thin, white woven fabric tape, and is great for making up small card gaffs.( buy it in boots)

but for full sized card gaffs, i find that white printer labels are great, and give a nice slippy surface for the other cards to rub against. :)

the best chase the lady I've seen is skinners ultimate monte, but second best is the stuck up monte from Real World Magic with mark mason. two indifferent cards are used to find the lady, and in the end the lady disppears and turns into your signed card.

I've always thought the absolute best montes are the pure sleight of hand ones. For example, Dai Vernon's, which can be found on youtube, is beautiful.
