I have a question for Dirty Davey: which Swami are you using? And where are you mounting it, so to speak? A thumb-tip or classic nail writer is (in some respects) easier to write with than a boon style (IMHO). However, I personally perfer boon Swamis for a number of reasons, including ease of fixing and hiding.

Thanks for all the tips everyone, yes I think that I'm probabaly trying to write too much. I'm doing a star sign prediction and writing sagitarius or aquarius is a handful at the best of times. I like the idea of the tick boxes, I could just have a ticket with a number of tick boxes, one for each sign and tick the appropriate box.

Ted, I started off using a TT swami but found it kind of clumsy so changed to a boon, which is far easier.

You could print a card with the signs of the Zodiac (as below, probably with a simpler design) and put a circle around the selected one - or a line through it, if you find that easier to start with.

i would go further.

if you create a card which has the signs of the zodiac on it in a circle as sugested above, you could have a blank area in the middle.

you ask for the spectators star sign, which you tick, or circle, and in the space in the middle, you then write the date on which their birthday falls.
making sure that you have your details on the reverse side.
this would be a lovely give away, because its very personal.

On not writing in a strait line.
I always say 'I'm going to write the prediction behind my back, so you can't see what I'm writing.' It allows me to get away with writing wonky.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Thanks muchly good people of Talk Magic for your help. I really love Ted and Dales ideas, I'll have to remember them.

I've decided that a swami probabaly isn't the best way to do this and am going to use a pocket index and billets, which will be easier and cleaner.

Thanks again though for all your tips, will be well worth remembering for when I do use the swami in battle.

index... Doh.

you only have to identify 12 for the zodiac.

so you could have them pre marked with their star sign highlighted, then you only have to write the date.
