I feel like being a spoil sport, and saying that with the money you paid for it, you could have got something a lot cooler, but I'll leave that for another day!

So...

Nice one Mark! I'm guessing picking up ladies was one thing you considered when picking a car?

Seconded. Granted you would have to pay ten times the cost of your beautiful beautiful jag every year to keep it roadworthy but still.....

Did you openly complain about the cost of insurance on the phone?
Or did you at least accept that it would cost a fair old bit?

I work in insurance and nothing annoys me more than young people buying brand new cars with all the whistles and bells and complaining that it costs a lot of money!

I accepted it as it was mate. At the end of the day, im 19, and classed as a risk on the road so understand that my premium is going to be high until im at least 23!!!!

Why don't people like you call me up?
I kid you not, someone wanted to add a 19 year old boy on a £45,000 BMW. The 19 year old had had his licence for 6 months and had 3 points.
Bizarrely the insurer was willing to quote the risk at £12,000.

"Well that's a bit higher than I was expecting. I was expecting £800 or so!"

Hahaha, loves it!

My dad has a 1 series BMW, his fully comp insurance is £250, to add me to that policy is an extra £750!!

I suppose my insurance quote for the megane could have been a hell of a lot worse, but I was rather happy to find out that LV had given me 1 years no claims bonus!!

Some people are so frickin' stupid it beggars belief. I'm not exactly Mr. Mensa, but next to idiots like that, I'm a bleedin' Einstein. I see examples of stupidity like this everyday, which only serves to confirm my motto... Never credit people with intelligence because they will invariably disappoint you.

My insurance is less than £400 this year which is a mild relief... that is of course if it passes it's MOT! But to get that I had to keep it off the road and uninsured for a week so that I could get a quote for someone who's had their licence for 3+ years, rather than 2 years 51 weeks. Knocked about £130 off the premium.

Of course, because no human actually has any control or responsibility any more, there was no one of seniority and sense that I could talk to and persuade that the situation was stupid and couldn't they just hit the override button and let me have the benefit six frickin' days early...

Nice one Mark

I always saw the car as a bit of a hair dressers car so perfect for you old bean ;) :D

Insurance, what a pain! Mine doubled when I swapped my car but I was fully expecting it.

Went from the a 1.6 Golf to a V6 4 Motion. Love it though, even took the badges off (stealth)
