Where's Toyah when we need her...

Oh yes,
Somewhere in the distance
Hidden from the view
Suspended in the atmosphere
Waiting to come through
Sometimes it's so far away
Sometimes it's very near
A sound being carried by the wind
Just loud enough to hear
I feel its power within me
Bells ringing in my head
So often I have heard its cry
But forgotten what it said

It's a mystery, oh, it's a mystery
I'm still searching for a clue
It's a mystery to me
A shot in the dark
The big question mark in history
Is it a mystery to you?

It can treat you with a vengeance
Trip you in the dark
Sirens in the distance
Can steer you from the path
It can lift you to the heavens
Put your troubles in the past
Whisper the elixir
Then vanish in a blast

It's a mystery, oh, it's a mystery
I'm still searching for a clue
It's a mystery to me
A shot in the dark
The big question mark in history
Is it a mystery to you?

It's a mystery to me, it's a mystery to me
It's a mystery to me, it's a mystery to me

It's a mystery, oh, it's a mystery
I'm still searching for a clue
It's a mystery to me
A shot in the dark
The big question mark in history
Is it a mystery to you?
It's a mystery, oh, it's a mystery
I'm still searching for a clue
It's a mystery to me
A shot in the dark
The big question mark in history
Is it a mystery to you?

Quirky coincidence No. 94: Before she sold out with that nonsense, Toyah had quite a lot of credibility on the post punk scene with songs such as "Victims of the Riddle" and "Love Me".

A the risk of veering further off topic, I saw her just before Christmas in the Jasper Carrot Christmas Cracker show. She was just as punk and noisy as ever - great fun!

I saw her as the genie in Aladdin a couple of years back, playing alongside Chico from the X-Factor.

Toyah was fabulous in panto.

I choose to make no comment about Chico (other than he was infinitely better than following year's stars at the Brighton Theatre Royal panto - Kim and Aggy from How Clean Is Your House).

but the showmanship of magic rolls over quite nicely into successful interaction with people and that's the real magic of what he does I think.

i think you the only person on planet that as made that link - people learn the game, and never think of learning magic

there is a big market there for magicians

also, magicains could learn alot from him, how to interact when not perform a trick

i think DB got it right when he stated that he got people to wait 20 minutes to see a trick, something i believe Malini did as well

however, this post will probably be ignored because finding a new way of doing a DL seems more imporatnt than opening minds to the new world of social interaction

maybe?

What a ridiculously arrogant assumption to make about this community.

it wasn't an assumption - look at the posts on the thread so far

most of us stick to what we know - i was trying to open up new ground - to no avail

so, i was only making an observation

That's probably because we're a Magic Discussion site, not a Social Interaction site, what else would people expect to find here?

ok....

everthing that touches on magic, that comes from magic, that creates magic

i think what mystery did based upon his work as a magician should be analysed by the magic community..

but, I'm happy to be wrong

He used magic as an angle to get laid. I hardly think that is of much importance to the magic comunity in general, it does not advance the art. It's not that difficult to figure out how to do it. Being a magician seperates you from the crowd, makes you stand out a little, adds a bit of mystery.

His use of magic is to seperate him from the crowd, to add something interesting to his angle. If you look at his tv series, read any interviews with him, or read his book, this is made a bit clearer.
