Google Chrome 105 Errors

Postby Jordan C » Mar 9th, '09, 20:34

Anyone else using Chrome getting a lot of 105 errors [web page not available]???

I've hunted for fixes but all the workarounds involve Norton Shnorton AV whereas I use Kaspersky!

It's peeving me right orff

Did you try making the change (changing your firewall to 'permit all') anyway? Worth trying anyway, and if it still doesn't work we know for sure it's not a firewall issue

I never get them and I use it all the time. Doubt that helps but it may be an issue other than chrome!!!

Hm, ok, probably not that then (I don't know if Chrome uses any other app, but I'm gonna assume it doesn't)

If it only happens during peak times I wonder if it's a slow connection problem. Google tells me that error 105 is a DNS problem (the bit that changes the domain name to the IP address) so I'm wondering if the DNS server is timing out

Do you ever have any problems at all in other browsers? If you run a speed test do you get a reasonable speed? I wonder if it's worth contacting your ISP.

With apologies if the above is all mumbo jumbo to you. I'm not sure how much computer knowledge you have :)

KOLM you are speaking to an ICT Security Specialist as published one or three times in TOMO's publications!! :P

I'd love it to be as simple as ISP but alas DNS is only an issue in Chrome and NOT in FF3 or IE8

I am beginning to suspect that the problem may be win7

lol, I now feel a fool for explaining what DNS meant :)
Sorry, assuming not much knowledge in computer stuff is a bad habit of mine

Hm, didn't they change the IP/internet connection stuff in Windows 7? It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was the case and it was buggy (and chrome being new/beta having one or two issues)

I'll test it in my own Windows 7 setup, see if I get any problems too

OK, maybe not, I can't get networking working through my VM :(

I'm really being completely unhelpful here... sorry

LOL... that's ok Kolm, I just shut down and went to bed in the end.

I'm going to do some digging around today and see what I can find. It seems to be a peak flow problem happening from about 8pm onwards.

Lemme know when you figure it out... it's baffled me so I'd be interested to know what the problem is

Don't worry, Clair. I once tried to explain linked lists to the visiting chair of computing at Lancaster University in a meeting. Well, no one told me who he was!
