I bought a high end HP laptop less than 2 years ago and spent £1200 on it.

You can now get a better spec laptop for around £400.

I would recommend getting a laptop that you can add a docking station to. This is why I bought an HP along with a docking station as you can have most of the benefits of a desktop while at home as well as the portability.

work will providing a lap top and docking station etc. This new lap top is purely for my own use.

I really don't have the space for a desk top other wise that is what I would go for. The one pointed out to me before looks like the winner with the addition of an external DVD writer.

No worries AC - good on ya for finding it cheaper to... although overclockers would have price matched.

Did you get blu ray or is it just standard dvd

everything is identical so blue ray, same processors, memory etc etc.

Its possible that the overclockers one would have had the same drive but I ordered a Flip Mino camera at the same time so it should all arrive tomorrow.

I really do appreciate the help by the way!
