Then why, when you wrote you address down for me, did you have to write it on the back of one of your business cards when we were in a pub surrounded (ok, maybe not "surrounded") by napkins and beer mats?

I investigated the cost of having the info and logo from my business card printed onto a glossy sticker that would fit almost exactly over the back (or front) of a playing card.
It would be £20 set up fee (one off) £65/1000, £85/2000 + VAT

Havent decided what to do yet. :?

There's some sound advice from Simon Lovell in the latest issue of Reel Magic regarding business cards. He says you should try and keep it simple; try to resist the temptation of printing things like a top hat with all manner of magical paraphernalia spilling out of it. He recommends keeping it relatively plain and clutter free. It looks more professional and will prevent possible clients from judging you solely on the garishness of your business card design, which could affect bookings or give out the wrong impression.

I'm no working magician, but it makes sense to me.

I've been a working pro for 10 yrs and it's worked fine for me.
The problem is that I perform for children as well as adults so a plain card is not always suitable.

However, who am I to contrdict the great Mr Lovell?

Don't sweat it; sometimes it's healthy to contradict Lovell. The man is nuttier than a bag of KP special roasted. ;)

Rather than shell put for expensive speically produced cards, it might be cheaper to change your name by deed poll - Fred Piatnik, Ernie Protea perhaps?
