The Royal Mint are offering £50 per item returned. Assuming that all those offers he's received are genuine (and that they're for more than £50) I'd be very annoyed right now if I'd sold mine back to the Royal Mint. Not that I have one of course.

Now, where did I put the kids' piggy banks?

It was as much the transparent fakery of the image. That said, most of the not-at-all-special 20ps for sale featured photos showing the head of the coin, rather than the tail, which is where the date is missing from.

I offered to swap it for a Michael Jackson ticket - I wonder if he will accept.

Ah, but he is offering FREE postage and packing. Bargain.

My sister-in-law's sister had one of these coins but didn't realise its potential value and spent it on the bus. She's a bit gutted now she knows.

This one's going for a cool million...

Just realised the coin pictured is genuine. I thought the year was supposed to be elsewhere.

Talk about screwing up the date of the coin in your pocket routine...
