I hasten to mention that the magician who left the country suspected of murder wasn't me. But to the subject at hand.

Mr Jay's views do not surprise me in the least. I have always known that he himself has anger management problems and is the sort to let fly with a firearm if he was goaded enough. No doubt he is getting angry now as he reads this which proves my point.

My view is that there is no excuse for discharging a firearm without real cause whether in America or Britain. We British take a stricter view on this because the possession of firearms by private individuals is quite rightly not part of our culture.

I understand Jonathon Pendragon has been sentenced to one year in jail over this. Paul Pacific is a good friend of Charlotte's and may have something to say about it.

My point is that it does affect what he is paid to do. If even his team mates won't shake hands with him, then clearly that will affect the way the team performs.
The private lives of public figures do impact on what they do, all the time. Just like our private lives impact on what we do. If you are a public figure it is all open for discussion.
Just look at Tiger Woods. He has a string of affairs (not our business) and now he is not golfing (you can see how it becomes public business). Sarkosi and his wife both play away. and his party loses an election last weekend. Jonathan Pendragon fires a shot in anger, and we never get to see a great act again. You can't separate the private and the public live. They are entwined.

Tony. Your post reminds me that I should somehow buy that book that mentions Paul Goldin and his various shenanigans. Where did you say it was available again?
Paul was a real character always getting into some trouble or other. I used to read negative as well as positive articles about him in the Irish press.
I was a massive fan of him. One of the most charismatic people, offstage and onstage, that I have ever met.
He got himself into quite a lot of trouble over the years but at least he was never daft enough to shoot bullets into the floor.

 Says who - the Sun? I think that's a bit of a funny syllogism.

Oh well, maybe they do play away, I don't know, but most people in France wouldn't think that's a reasonable argument for putting someone in power, or empeaching them for that matter.

It's the second time the regions swing left, still, the majority of people elected Sarkozi president, knowing full well he was divorced and remarried. Who cares. He also has the majority "in the house", again, representatives who were elected by the people.

In my opinion, people back home think the left does quite well at local level, but can't be that bothered anyway since only 40% of them decided to turn up on election day. Nationaly though, our labour has no program to speak of. Anyways, I digress

Still, I don't think Sarkozi is shooting guns in l'Elysee, bloody expensive stuff in there.

In summary, and back on topic : in France, shooting something you don't intend to eat = bad.

I noticed this picture at Blackpool this year and immediately this story came to mind. I know Zakary does an excellent job, but I hope that Johnathon does not use this as a promo now.
