Everyone is going on about the 9th. Derren's site has the 9th but according to the tv listings its all happening on the 11th.

On the 9th there is a short program (10 mins only) at 10:35 which incidentally is around the time of the Wednesday National lottery results.

there is also 'the gathering' on E4 on the 9th just to confuse things.

An interview with Derren about the shows:

It looks like he will be "hypnotising" viewers afterall, which sounds interesting. And the first episode sounds even more interesting

The stunt is happening on the 9th, the explanation will be on the 11th

From what the competition said if you have enterered the competition for a seat to watch the events on the 11th and then how they are done you have to wait for a call at 10am on the 9th of the 9th at 10am.

It's going to be facinating.

(Not Derrens event as such. After all there isnt any real difference between predicting the lottery, and predicting say... a headline in a newspaper)

But its going to be interesting watching the huge ammount of wanabes who will also try to get publicity from dupicating the lottery prediction.

Smithy has it bang on, that's the difference. I bet the number one thing people would want are next week's winning lottery numbers, and Derren is attempting to do that. Whether or not the method is boring or not (and I expect it isn't, if he's giving it away), it's certainly something we all wish we could do

This isnt the first time ive said this today....

Your thinking about what you see, not what I do.

(In which case i would agree, there is more emotional involvement when large sums of money are involved )

But I was thinking about the effect from a technical view point.
a prediction, what ever it may be, uses simular methods.

And i should add, like everybody else, that i've no idea what method Derrens going to be using.
And it's going to be fun to work out the possible methods.

Just as its going to be really frustrating when a news paper decides to expose the method, some time early next week.

Just like they did with rusian Roulette.

( and there's a prediction for you) 8)

But that's why Derren Brown is so well known, he uses a simple method to do the extraordinary, and he does it well. I personally don't care how it's actually done, as long as I'm entertained

you can be your bottom dollar. the explain method and the real method will be very very dissimilar.. ;)

the thing is... this is all entertainment.. the public are captivated by it... they reel into the lines of 'banned from buying a lottery ticket by channel four..' the love the idea that the 10 min wednesday night show will be broadcast live and projected onto buildings in london. birmingham, manchester etc...

I know how I'd do it... and i do hope he does it the same way... Derren and the team are just a fantastic group at being able to show boat it...

good luck to them... and i know how hard they have been working over the last 18 months on this.. and just HOW many leaks they have plugged...

looking forward to it :)

Derren Brown wrote:The Mirror and the Sun are correct. I’ve just got up, or you’d have got it earlier yourselves. I shall try and predict at least 5 out of the 6 balls correctly. I apologise now if it goes boobs-up.

This the culmination of a LOT of secret work and research. On Weds night, live at 10.35 pm, it will cut across all Channel 4 channels, and be broadcast on buildings in

London (Tate Modern),

Manchester (Premier Lodge/back-up Deansgate Lock),

Birmingham (5-ways Entertainment Complex/Bull-ring, Moor St Side as back-up)

and Edinburgh (Hunter Square/back-up Museum of Scotland)

Then, on the first Friday night EVENTS one-hour special (9pm, C4, Fri 11th), I’ll show you how I did it.

The following Fridays will offer other ambitious live or interactive stunts and treats.

- A subliminal piece of media that will stick you to your seats at home.

- A nationwide psychic experiment

- A casino-related scam with a twist.

I’ll let you know more each week.

Wish me luck for Wednesday – I might even pray.

A relief to finally be able to talk about it! xx.
