Splendid stuff!

Well, the good news: I booked my place a few weeks ago, when I sorted out my annual subscription. I shall, at long last, meet Paul Bell.

The bad news: In view of the location won't be able to stay for drinks afterwards (again). Iain is speaking at the event (just kidding, you scamp, I'm looking forward to it).

Can anyone give an estimate of roughly how long it will take to walk from the station to the venue?

Its about a ten min walk its not far, but there is a taxi rank at the station and it wil be about £3-4 and its a two min drive.

There are some good looking hotels in Hitchin, and without the London price tag. I'm going for The Priory. £45/night, set in 19 acres of grounds, 5 minutes from the station. Combined with a cheap 1st Advance ticket it'll be a great weekend. Plus I get to tell people that I'm checking into The Priory!

I shall be arriving in the Big Smoke Saturday morning, but shall not be departing until Sunday morning. I propose a few jars in the evening followed by a Ruby Murray.
