That's exactly what I was thinking. Before he got to the sticky bit, I realised that I was pretty stuck and it would have taken a lot of effort for me to get up. Once I was supposed to be stuck I felt I should get up. But even then....

They even mentioned that in the TV listings in the Telegraph. Something like... "He promises to glue everyone to their sofas. Not too difficult on a Friday night."

"Magic teaches us how to lie without guilt." --Eugene Burger
"Hi, Robbie!" "May your mischief be spread." --Derren Brown

i agree with the idea that it could all be a huge misdirection... sounds very much like his sort of thing and it would also explain his (seemingly) low success rate so far... what i mean is that i dont know of anyone who was stuck and i have only heard about a couple of cases over the internet. although i know a lot of people did get stuck... just a lot DIDNT. maybe the next event will turn this around? having said that, there are some well good parts to the events.

i have to admit im not too into the series so far... i preferred it when it was all kind of low key, rather than involving the whole nation...

Considering the backwards advert said Derren has been working on 4 events of misdirection - and so far there has been no (typical) misdirection. Could this all be leading somewhere in a few weeks.

Someone else mentioned that Brown and Nymans approach is that of, you think this is happening, oh, now look over there! We were doing this all along.

Derren has been ridiculed for this series so far by a few, by not meeting expectations. Was he aware all along that people would want a twist at the end... so far its uncertain.

agreed. i often hear people talking about how its bad so far and that he's an idiot... i really hope its all part of a master plan and it will blow everyone away... i guess we just have to wait and see. still enjoying it tho!
