Just been into 'The Works', and grabbed a couple of nice little deals -
The Book of English Magic (Carr-Grom Heygate) plots the culture and history of all things Magic(k)al, from the earliest Authurian legends, through the novels of Tolkien, from the Druids to Queen Elisabeth's astrologer Dr. Dee. Learn how to: plot a ley line, dowse for water, cast an Anglo Saxon Rune, perform spells with candle magic etc..
An excellent guidebook for performers of a darker ilk, there's a full multitude of legends and historical depth to be plumbed here, for just £2.99
If this is your thing, you're looking for a thick (a whopping 562 pages!), A5 sized paperback - white cover, with red and black line drawings, and the title in black.
Secondly, we have a large, hardback, from DK books, entitled, 'Haunted'. With it's hologram on the cover, and large, card-like pages, this could easily be mistaken for a child's book; covering a mass of topics, including ouija, PK abilities, spirit writing and the like, though, we again have a tome with some hidden depth - £4.99 for a lovely book of idea-starters seems a very small price to pay.
Time to make a few things go bump in the night
