Dont. The dvd teaches the move, but not the misdirection.

The acr i do, uses hardly any moves,( and definatly no passes) and is audience tried and tested over far to many years for me to think about.

Well where would you suggest is a better resource for the poster to learn the move?

I would think it is not about a better resource for the move, rather a better move in this scenario.

There aren't many resources better for the pass than Kaufman's DVD, although I do think his pass is questionable, but there are certainly many better resources for learning the ACR routine.

things like teh DL , and the tilt move are much more usefull in an acr than the pass. Remember the heat is on teh deck the whole time in an acr routine, which will increase the chances of being caught doing it incredibly.

As has been said, it's all in the presentation. A very quick search on YouTube return eight AC performance routines from the likes of ammar, wonder, christian, malone and daryl. That gives you a framework to imitate.

As for the handling, you can get the mechanics of the moves from youtube, but you won't get the flair. From my observation, some of the youtube move explanation/tutorials are actually better than the specific teaching elements of some of the commercial DVDs, especially those commercial DVDs that have dozens of moves on them or that purport to explain something as a utility, rather than as an in-depth examination: the fact that there are so many variants on youtube for any given move allows you to see many different interpretations which is a great supplement to trying to read it from a book.

Its already been mentioned, but i would go for Daryl's ambitious card DVD its has all the great moves to make up your own routine and does not go into all the moves you don't need like passes.

I learned my routine years ago from this DVD (video then) and have changed it over the years.

Just remember keep it simple without to many moves. It will be far more impressive to the spectator.

Daryl doesn't like passes. On his encyclopedia of card sleights he deliberately does everything except the pass. an unusual approach.

Unlike mr christian. he loves 'em.

diff'rnt strokes ...
