With Free Will - There is not need to use the chips provided. Get a larger black bag and use a spectators wallet , watch, and coin for example. The principle works just as well, when its not done 'blind' and the focus is put on the 'meaning' of the objects to the spectator as their owner.

Not a bad idea at all. But not doing it "blind" May take away a little from the effect.

Me and Tottaly mental was discussing this the other day and its a great little effect. A nice in to a suggestion routine.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Bought this yesterday and tried it out on the evening. It got a great reaction. Very nice simple principle that can rapped up nicely in a discussion on free will and determinism. The props are nicely made. Not to every ones tastes I imagine, but as has been pointed out you can change to a normal pack of esp cards.

I love this effect, i have had a couple over the years that is how much i use it, i now perfrom this with e.s.p cards either way works and gets the same reaction.

Always impresses, i think it's great i havr been performing this for years and no spectator has ever caught the simple but beatiful method it uses.

Just brilliant.

Hi,

I bought this recently as one of my first attempts at performing mentalism. I paid £12.95 at Merlins Wakefield (a great shop with excellent and helpful service) and am very pleased with the effect and props for the price.

The piece of paper removed from the bag at the beginning looks to be something like a thin parchment, but could easily be replaced with something better on a home printer. If the paper is turned blank side up on the table, depending on the surface, you can actually see the text printed on it, it's that thin. I suspect the paper will also become quite dog eared after being used a few times.

The lovely black cloth bag is around 3" square, made of what feels like suede and has a ribbon drawstring at the top. The discs and paper (folded) fit nicely into it and go well together. The whole thing can easily fit into a small pocket and is self contained when stored in the bag.

You get three wooden discs, with images on both sides (which I won't go into so as not to spoil it). One reservation I have is that the print on them looks like it would be rubbed off with use. It's in black ink and I think it's been stamped onto the discs, or printed with a thin layer of ink. The instructions do say that you can enhance the markings using a fine tipped pen, which made me suspect that perhaps they'd run into this issue. Personally, I'm more inclined to use some artist's matt varnish to protect the discs as they are when new. I bought a bottle for a couple of pounds at a local art shop.

The method itself is really nicely designed and on the only two occasions I've used this, have managed to get astonishment as a reaction. Yep, only two so far as I have limited choices for an audience at the moment. As a noob to all this, I was chuffed to bits with the way people reacted, as you can imagine! With a bit of practice and using the instructions as a guide for wording the presentation, it was very easy to learn. If I can do it, anyone can.

I'll give this 8/10 - I'd give it 9, but to be very picky, I think the paper could have been better quality (thicker stock) and the discs pre-varnished. As it is, this is a cheap and very nice effect. I'm happy with it.

Cheers,
Wishmaster

Recently I've been doing this one with ESP cards, althugh I do like the above idea as well. I'll have to give that a go.

I love this effect - got a great reaction from a spec who frowns at most of the effects I do - really spooked him.

I am thinking of getting the Free Will of Order being discussed now on the other thread.

Just a quick note to say I've varnished my discs and they've come up very nicely. As it's matt varnish, they look slightly darker and it's given the wood a richer colour, without being shiny. I think one coat is probably enough to protect them from wear and will stop the print from being scratched off through handling.

The only downside is that the varnish still smells quite strong, even after a few days drying. Oh well :)
