Great little string trick..

Postby panther1004 » May 30th, '04, 19:03

I found this really cool string trick on the web, where you show two strings and all of a sudden (blink of an eye) the tops of the string melts together and it becomes one examinamble piece of string! You are clean!

Pm me for the link (its free) I dont want to post it here because it is only for magicians eh? :D

ps. instructions maybe sleightly unclear, i didnt get them at first!

Looking at the description of the effect, i would say that this is probably the same trick, using the same method, that was published in Scott's discovery of witchcraft in 1584.
It is something that has been re-discoverd many, many times.

The trick sounds really good. Where can I get a copy of that discovery of witchcraft book as I've heard that it has some good (although really old) tricks?

Scott's Discovery Of Witchcraft is the first known book to be published that contains the actual workings for magical effects and as such I'm not sure if it's still available. It would be an antique you see, but they might have reprinted it.

It has been reprinted, by dover books. I have no idea where to sugest you look for a copy. The original one is almost the rarest book on magic in existance. I think that world wide there are no more than a dozen copies known to exist.
