Magic Tricks and or Tips related to ' creativity'

Postby tomassi » Jan 26th, '10, 20:31

Hello everybody.

Next month I have to do an ' in company presentation' about creative thinking/ the creative process. I'm looking for good magic tricks that can be linked to this theme (like Dean's Box vs thinking out of the box).

Has anybody tips and/or tricks with a good storyline around the subject of creativity, which I can use or get inspiration from?

Ofcourse I'm in the middle of a creative process myself right now, but it works better for me if I brainstorm with others.

Thank you very much.

u mean that one ?:P

i would suggest the 2 card monte always gets great reactions and if u play it like this

you show them a red queen and a black queen :P do the trick and ask them which one they think is the red queen and which one is the black queen..
they hasitate and answer... after that just ask if they would find it impressive if you could change those cards (they think u mean that u will change the order of those ) after they said yes or no :P just work ure magic!:P make sure the replaced cards dont look like queens...

thats what i call thinking out of the box:P

ehmm if it is a large group and u have a chair u can put a spectator on i would recommend a (dont know how the trick is called)

but this is what u do (place the spectator on the chair) stand next to him left side is the best i suppose if right handed.... bend down forward and show him some tissues ... :P pick up 1 tissue make a ball of it :P and ask him to look closely... (ask him to put his elbows on his knees and head on his hands) after that just play a game which hand is the tissue in...

after 2 times he probably is ready

the 3th time u say ure gonna make it harder... u better inform the other spectators that ure gonna fool him big time if else they probably F**k ure trick up :P

the 3the time when u do the sequence u just throw the tissue behind u when ure doing some hand movements to confuse him which hand it is in...

if he is really focussed on your hands and really wants to beat u :P this will guaranteed work :) and give great laughs to the others

u can mix the trick with some false transfers or just act like u pick up a new tissue and crumble it:)

PIXEL is a real good trick also because it rises OUT OF THE PACKET(instead box )

You can use magic to enhance a presentation, as the focus or so your audience will remember you.

Check out Eugen Burger who has put a lot of thinking into how to present. He has done corporate presentations flavoured with tricks.

This web site http://www.magic4speakers.com/ has some good ideas. things like giving needle-through-ballon a narrative (your ideas pop, but some ideas go straight through) or some such.

There are books on this subject: http://www.amazon.com/Presenting-Traini ... 0070540403

There's a guy on youtube whose name I forget that has a clip of him doing motivational speaking with magic. You can google for this and for other motivational / magic presentations.

Let's face it, corporate presentations are deadly: a powerpoint purgatory. Your trick could be tangential to the presentation (a bit of colour) or it could demonstrate the act of creation creation (spongeball ex nihilo or miser's dream about how the ideas keep coming and coming, you don't know where from but you are rich in ideas) . some magic dealers will have a sideline in presentations so they could flog you a nice little stage illusion.

But you don't need to be clever. Flash paper and a dove: what more is there?

How about a card trick using Eno's Oblique Strategies cards. They're used by all kinds of people for getting the old thinking muscle to pump cerebral iron.
