making a double backed

same reuqest....I'd like to do the trick "vanishing aces"...and it calls for 3 aces with any ordinary backing card affixed to it.

there is advice here regarding "tape" / glue and such...what I am wondering is....once TWO cards are affixed together....will it not look "too thick" and thus...suspicious ?? 8)

Certainly not. There are many effects which use the principle. YOU will know its slightly thick but your audience will assume its just a card. Its all in the handling - the trick is to handle it just like you would an ordinary card. Think of a DL. If it is handled clumsily it draws attention to it, and it can be obvious its a double. Done smoothly all the spectator sees is a single card :)

If people are wanting to look at your effects you really are not presenting it right. That's practice, honestly. Not just presentation, the way you behave, which is part of your presentation.

I've gone dizzy reading this. 5 mins of my life I'm never going to get back.

Anyway staples will stick a few cards together and they will look like one

Changing glue is great but you do get audible krrrrrrrr sound when pulling them apart... Which affects reset. Which is why one infamous packet effect, which I won't reveal as it would be verging on exposure, in which spectators respond with "what the f**k? No!" (hint hint) has the same premise and visual as another hypnotic packet effect by DP, but the different handling makes the latter superior for reset.

However RS is not amenable to inscrutable spectator scrutiny as glue... With changing glue I've had cynical friends with overexposure to magic actually handle the cards and with misdirection (ie conversational distraction and eye contact) they've missed the double entirely... which was nice
