Mandrake... Is that you? Have you been drinking the night nurse again? We've told you before about that, if you're going to drink it at least save some for us... :D

Madam. I must say you are acting very oddly this evening. Methinks you have been indulging in the devil's buttermilk a trifle too heavily. I do hope you don't have too much of a headache in the morning.

Hmmmmmm using my powers I can sense a feeling of regret and melancholy will be coming over you later this morning (perhaps much later!)

Hope you don't have too much of a headache....

Some celebrate Valentine's Day.

Others celebrate Ballantine's Day.

valentine's day...never indulge in that rubbish...

a) its female orientated
b) nonsense of the highest order
c) its telling you when to be romantic

here's a quick and easy guide in how to dispell valentine's day...say to your girlfriend/wife - "darling, i love you very much, and i want you to know that when i make any wild and romantic gesture its because i feel moved to do so...i don't like valentines day because its just a vast corporate lie that makes us buy standard issue cards, and badly kept roses...

you dont want that do you - I'm sure you'd prefer it that when i buy you something its because im moved to do so, and that i've only bought you something because i love you...

or, i could give up doing that, and just buy you a balloon with an "ickle" heart on it and a rose from the local garage once a year...

up to you!"

you should then follow this up with a slap on her bum, a sid james laugh and demand a bacon sandwich...

...and I agree with Iain.

Valentine's Day is a 'Hallmark Holiday', promoted by greeting card companies in a bid to make you spend stupid amounts of money on trite sentimental tat.

I've made this very same point in the past.

Now I'm expected to do something romantic every Valentine's day and spring romantic surprises at other times of the year. Never argue with a lady over Valentine's day!

nope...i have claimed that its sexist...because the guy is expected to put far more effort into that day than women...

i've mentioned it at work and the sheer outrage i was faced with was ridiculous...i think i may have tipped them over the edge by also stating that its not my problem if their other halves are unromantic during the rest of the year...

no, and a firm no mr. irving...put that foot down...
