Ambitious Card Finisher

Postby GoldFish » Jun 15th, '04, 19:14

I'm bored and there's not much happening on the forum of late so I thought I would put one of these really annoying "What's your Favourite..." type posts on here, if only to start a bit of conversation.

So what's your favourite Ambitious Card routine finisher?

Personally I love Jay Sankey's Paper Clipped as a finisher. It blows them away, and its so simplistic. There's no unnecesary envelopes or bits of rope etc, and it suits my style perfectly.

Of course, this is only my opinion and Paperclipped only fits my performing style perfrectly because it's my performing style!

Any other thoughts?

All the best,

Will Wood

The one I usually go for is the good old favourite bent card jumping to top from centre.

ok first i don't do cards, shaky jakey and all that so i only have a basic knowledge of the ambisiouse card phenonemum, basicly i strip a card selected from a shuffled deck when trying to find it behind my back.
have them look through the deck for there card and as they do this place the card angled into my glasses.

hope this helps.

An interesting idea, could be a good finisher to the Ambitious card if you used a top palm instead of a strip out (I presume with a tappered deck?). Hmm, could be a good one indeed, perhaps in a completely impromptu-"I have no idea what to finish with, coz i left my paperclip in my other trousers"-type situation.

i just like to give them (what they think) is the card as a kind of souvinere thingy then pull of the real card from either mine or their pocket... a simple thing for a simple magician :P but it gets the result that i wanted *shrugs*

my all time favourite ambitious card finisher has to be shoet by JB magic, just to see the look on their faces when you loose ther card in the pack, then go straight to your shoe- NO FUNNY BUSINESS, there is a face down card in your shoe, it turns out to be there signed card!

Always a winner!

Not sure if I'm on my own here but the idea of taking a card out of my shoe and handing to a spec suggests that there may be issues of hygiene involved which may make the spec less than happy to actually handle the card! Does it come supplied with a full set of Odour Eaters just in case?

It has to to be for me, puting a sight bend in the card, bang it in the middle and it jums to the top with the bend in it :D
People SWEAR they see it rifle up through the deck to the top :D

or second favourite, getting the spec to push "their card" wilst its half sticking out of a fan right into the deck whilst licking the back of Their Card and sticking it to my forehead. and seeing how long it takes then to stop looking at me shuffling the deck and find THEIR CARD stuck to my head, Tickles Me!

okay, I know i said that my favorite was having the card under my foot then making it reappear on top of the pack.

heres something that i saw a few days ago, and have adopted. [/b]a card pops up twice then, at the third, it, instead of appearing at the top, is seen to be at the lips of the performer.
i swear, the result is good

My AC routine follows a story about battling red Queens, so the finish involves an unexpected card, two severed heads and lots of blood.

I guess you have to be there to see it.

Finisher

Postby S_adamson1 » Mar 7th, '05, 15:49

My routine often finishes with sankeys paperclipped. I feel that this really blows the spectators minds. But just before paperclipped so for my second last move I do the pop up or bent card move I find that this looks great and makes then necessary sleight neeeded for paperclipped much easier. Sankey also a card in Envelope on his Revolutionary Card Magic as a finisher which is really convincing. Those 2 are my favourite ways to finish. Occasionally I wiill have it appear in my show or maybe in my mouth but I prefer the first two methods.

Here are some demo videos of all the above methods I mentioned

Hope this is helpful
