I often wonder this. It seems not knowing carries more weight than knowing. I have looked people up on wiki to try and find out if they are homosexual, and if I do find out, it tends just result in a shrug. I could spout some evolutionary psychology BS about it here, but I won't.

As for coming out, I think it does help, especially if you're in the public eye, because it means not having to have awkward conversations, respond to difficult questions, or play the pronoun game. What is heartening is that the outings themselves tend not to take on the flavour of Randi's. They tend instead to be quite matter-of-fact revelations, a la Gatiss or Lucas.

The only time it has come in use, was when i was playing mother goose.

I surprised the choreographer, who didnt know.

she said.. you just make something up.. so i did.

the clog dance from La fille mall gardee, complete with 2 entrechat at the end. :lol:

she was gobsmacked... i was knackered.
