Leamington Day of Magic 23rd June 2010

Postby Its magic » Mar 26th, '10, 08:38

Leamington and Warwick Magic Society’s Day of Magic is the main event of our year. With over 120 attendees last year this years event will be bigger and better as we strive to make this event the premier 1 day convention.

Admission £20

Includes breakfast for early arrivals, a lunch time buffet and evening BBQ for all pre-paid tickets.

The lectures this year will be from:

Mark James: Maker of the Super Charged Classic DVD’s, performer of close-up and stand-up comedy magic.

Dave Allen: Magic Dave Award Winning Children’s Entertainer.

Andrew Normansell: Close-up and stand-up magician.

Workshops will also be throughout the day so far we have Graham Lee and Smudgy on balloons, and Dave Taylor on rope magic.

In the evening we will again be holding the Midlands Champion of Champions Close-up Competition.

Also add to this a great range of dealers who quote this event as one of the most enjoyable of the year.

Each year the numbers have grown for this event which must be the best value convention in the country.

Add to this free parking, it does not get much better than this!

Wednesday is an unusual day for an event like this but fortunately it falls bang in the middle of a weeks holiday I have booked so I may be able to get there (Mrs Wizz needs to be consulted)

How late does the event finish? THe website is not very informative.

EDIT: Please ignore this, I have now found my way to the event website

The event is aimed directly at working magicians who normally can't attend weekend events for obvious reasons.

Therefore, a midweek day is the easiest and most practical

I look forward to seeing you there

Thanks, sounds great I will consult she who must be obeyed tonight. She might fancy a day in Leamington or Warwick as a sweetener.

I think I'm going to this too, if I can get the time off work. Otherwise, I'll just be there in the evening.

Looking forward to it.

Just 2 weeks to go now and tickets are selling well compared to last year.

Here is a run down of the day and rough timings.

Doors open at 7.00am for dealers to enter and trade a soon as they are ready, 7.30am doors open to the public and breakfast available.

10.30am Mark James Lecture

After the England match Andrew Normansell Lecture
Evening BBQ

During the afternoon there will be mini lectures/ workshops from David Taylor on rope magic , Arthur McTier on Cards and Graham Lee and Smudgy on balloons.

All of this (including the food) is available for £20 and there is free parking as well, I am yet to hear of another convention that offers such good value?

Would this suit amateurs like myself?

I have never been to a lecture, let alone a day of them.
