Maybe the skin covering his robotic frame was "borrowed" from someone else, and it is from this DNA that various internal organs are created as replacements for his robotic organs as the millennia pass. And it is this DNA that creates the Daleks.

Probably not though. However i do think he has a larger role to play within the "Who-verse". That replacement black hand was far too sinister to just retire to a post office in Scotland.

I do wonder why the doctor left a potentialy devestatingly strong Unexploded bomb to wander around.
Who knows, maybe that wormhole will come into play when he realises that he is in the wrong universe, and needs a way to get back.

Agreed! Fantastic episode - and I wasn't expecting it to be a 2-parter, so the cliff-hanger ending was a real surprise!!!

I'm at Derren Brown next Saturday, so I'll have to make sure the V+ Box is set to record!!!

The only episode in which the crack wasn't apparent, but obviously the pre-episode to which at least some of it comes to light!

Great episode, loved Blink when I first saw it, good to see Moffat bringing back one of his own creations now that he is the big man upstairs.

One thing that did annoy me was when River Song told the Doctor that the Tardis is not supposed to make that noise.

Oh Go Take A Flying Leap instead of messing with 48 years of storytelling.

From what I can gather River Song is apparently some form of criminal, which by the sounds of things the Doctor is responsible for her imprisonment, but it's sometime in his future, and her past, but she is using him in his past guises to get her out of trouble. Kinda makes you want to go back and watch Silence in the LIbrary and throw stuff at the screen.

Time Magazines Person Of The Year 2006.

I thought that was the best line of the show, myself!! I don't think it's too healthy to be too precious about what is regarded as 'canon'... The next thing you know, when Matt Smith decides to pack it in, there'll be a whole outcry about how a Timelord can only regenerate so many times (is it twelve or thirteen or something... and didn't David Tenant use up one of those when he sent his energy into his amputated hand a couple of series ago???) See what I mean...? Best to just enjoy it and not ask too many questions!

It was similar to the 'Ashes To Ashes' reference to the vandalisation on the Blue Peter garden in this week's episode - just a bit of fun!

I really thought the episode was awesome, but have my doubts about episode two. With previous two parters in the Doctors recent incarnations the concluding episode has always felt like a let down.
For example, the introduction of the Cybermen was amazing, but the second part was lame (especially the Cyber-bride-to-be death scene).
I really do hope though that the weeping angels finishes better, as the setup was just so darn good... :)

Nah, that would be the one that came after River Song said she'd been taught to fly a Tardis by the best (coupled with the Doctor's reaction to her remark).

The trouble with that line is that, for example, the Master's Tardis made a similar sound; I believe it's the noise of the time rotor (but don't quote me). As they'd done essentially the same joke moments before (about the blue stabilisers), it felt rather pointless. But ultimately, it is just a bit of fun and infinitely preferable to schoolboy antics such as farting aliens.

Sadly, quite correct. I think that the two part stories are like Stephen King stories - great set-ups followed by (usually) feeble endings.

Don't get me started on Stephen King!!! I used to love his books - and you're quite right - the first three quarters of every book is usually fantastic... and then it all goes horribly wrong.

Take the recent 'Under The Dome' - wonderful setup, brilliant characters (possibly his best in ten years or more) and then a woefully disappointing ending. I'd prefer it if he didn't end his books at all - just stopped writing when he got bored and let us make the endings up ourselves!! :)

Re: Angels pt. 1 -

Anybody else notice the spacesuits from the Library hung behind the characters in one scene? You know, the white suits with the black visors?

Also, one of the "red shirts" carried on speaking after he was dead. Again, shades of the library.

Also - anyone recognise Mike Skinner (AKA The Streets) as the guard kissed by River Song at the beginning......?
