Free Website Hosting

Postby Tony Hyams » Apr 21st, '10, 20:00

Hi all, if you are considering getting a website, Dariam are offering free hosting for a limited time, once you have the site, it will be free forever unless you upgrade the account. The best bit is that there is no advertising on your site unlike some other free hosting services. the only you have to pay for is the domain name which you can get from 123-reg (prices start from 99p)

Why on earth should I use a hosting provider who don't even use their own domain name and don't even come up at the top for their own company name?

Sorry, I've had more than my fair share of clients have trouble with hosts. I'm incredibly picky with who I recommend

Also, consider you get what you pay for

Interesting thing is, that site is registered to someone who also does card magic. Lives and works in Portsmouth.

Coincidence? Fess up, he's your best mate.

Darren at the Magic Attic told me about it, I thought it was good for people that want to get a website up, I just thought you might want to know about it!!! it's free and if you don't like it you can always move on to a different host.

That's the problem with free/cheap hosts. Some of them hold your site and your domain to ransom so you can't move. I've seen it happen

If you want a freebie (website and hosting) try Weebly.

HI Guys,

The hosting is completely free, you have you own control panel so you can do what you like with the site.

Your domain name remains with you, you dont have to transfer it, just point it to the hosting space.

Hi Kolm, yes i have had similar problems with a certain web hoster, took me 3 weeks to get my domain back, i have set this up so its only hosting i offer, not domain transfers.
Dariam has been set up on a secure server to protect from spammers and hackers.

Hi Gillows,Yes Tony is a friend and I am from Portsmouth, i own The Magic Attic, this is an extendsion of The Magic Attic.

Like Tony already stated, this is free and you can have as many hosting accounts as you like. They are free for as long as you keep the account.
NO adverts or Links.

The only thing i can suggest is to try it and see for yourself.... It's FREE.

If you have questions PM me.

Aha, found the 'it's free because....' clause. I prefer hosts that offer ssh access :)

That's good to know, thanks for alleviating my concerns. If it makes you feel any better, the host I use had to put up with far worse questions before I transferred my domains to their control :)
