I did watch it. And you know what? It, erm, it reminded me a lot of, erm, Buffy...

I mean, it wasn't as good as Buffy by a long stretch, but imagine the lead girl as Buffy, the lead guy as Angel and the baddies as Spike and Drusilla and gang...

You're all going to shout at me now, aren't you?

It was alright. That is all.

Did they not?

Jobasha wrote:I reconmend the Wordworth compilation children of the night. It's a good cheap collection of early vampire literature. It has on a number of the significant stories in the development of the monster John Polidori's "the vampyre" and Sheridan Le Fanu "Carmilla". It shows the monster in a variety of forms. A cheap read if nothing else.

To redeem myself - the DVD was bought for me by my sister-in-law who is a very avid Buffy fan, is really into Lost and has recently introduced me to Supernatural.

We went on hoilday with her and her husband a few months back and she was talking about Supernatural and asking if I wanted to borrow series 1.

"It's not like that Twilight rubbish is it?" I asked, before realising it was she who had bought it for me at Christmas.

I quickly backtracked: "Well, it wasn't rubbish was it? It was alright. I quite enjoyed it in parts. In fact it was jolly good, best movie of the year..."

Supernatural is a great series that keeps getting better.

Yes! Supernatural is excellent, after months of resistance I finally broke down and watched it. A slow start but it quickly hooked me.

And when my brother came down to visit, he went from mocking me for watching it, to half watching while on his computer, to getting caught up on old episodes and ended up with 'Carry on wayward son' by kansas as his ringtone.

Personally I will now only ever hire a ghost hunter if he carries a shotgun full of rock salt.

Invoke not reason. In the end it is too small a deity.

Anyone watched True Blood?
The girl is human and can read minds, the guy is a vampire and she can't read his....

I gave up quickly. Is it worth watching any further? Does anything actually happen?

Would this be a good point to mention how much of a Harry Potter fan boy I am? Been to Alnwick Castle and everything! Even had my photo taken on the grassed area used for the broomstick class in Philosopher's Stone, grinning like a loon.

I used to sell magic wands for a living (hence my username) and attended a Harry Potter convention once. You think magicians are weird? Everyone (and bear in mind, this was an adults only convention, no children allowed!!) was dressed in Slytherin uniforms. Seems adult fans prefer Slytherin. [SPOILER AHEAD!] This was years ago, long before we became aware that Snape was a good guy and died in an attempt to stop the Dark Lord.
