I think major progress has been made. The spine problem has now been sorted out. In fact I almost think I can say you can order the book from this moment forth. I have already sent various books here, there and everywhere in the US and Canada so am now getting the hang of it.

However I haven't sent any to Britain yet so I need to try a little experiment first. I owe Mandrake a book since he purchased one from me at my London lecture in October. I shall send him one in the next few minutes and once I see that the book is actually in production and on its way I shall then give the green light for anyone that wishes to order to do so.

Not yet. I can't read your writing in my little notebook when I took all the names and addresses. I need the postal code and there is some confusion over one of the digits in your street address. I can't make out if it is supposed to be a 7 or a 9. I have e-mailed you over the matter anyway.

Mandrake's order has now been processed. It will probably take about a week for it to be printed then 3 days later he should have his book. No expensive shipping from North America. In fact the shipping is free for UK customers. The book is printed in the UK itself.

This means that I am now officially able to take your money at

If it arrives before I head off to Blackpool I'll take it with me so any of the TMers there can take a peep...at the book, I mean...

Martin Macmillan of International Magic may well have the books on sale at Blackpool. He will be the only dealer there who has them. You can get them from him or you can get them from me online. He only ordered 12 so you had better not dally too much if you are at Blackpool.

Actually Martin received all 12 books today and said the printing is better than he expected. I am amazed how fast he got them. Only 5 days of printing and shipping. So Mandrake won't have to wait long at all. It should arrive any day.

In fact Martin was so pleased he ordered another dozen to be sent in time for Blackpool. So if any of you go to Blackpool for the convention head straight for the International Magic stand and he should have plenty. I have even sent Martin some gummed autograph labels to stick on the books for those that want it.

Martin will be the only dealer in Blackpool that will have my book. If any of you are not going to Blackpool then you can order via Paypal. 25 pounds or 40 dollars whichever you prefer. Paypal accepts both I believe.

My copy arrived bright and early this morning, only had time for a quick read, up to page 40 at the moment, and it explains a lot  ! Also good to see that Mark got his preference of cover photo. I'll work my way through the book over the next few days and let you have my impressions* asap.

*I assume you don't want my awful Bruce Forsyth (good game, good game) or even worse Tommy Cooper which sounds more liike Gladys Cooper (and not many will know who the heck she was!).

I am pleased that you let us know when it arrived because I have been wanting to find out how long it takes for one single book to be shipped. International Magic got their books in 5 days and that includes the actual printing!

Your book was ordered on the 6th of February, two days to print it since it was shipped out on the 8th February and another 4 days to arrive! Just a week! I am quite pleased about that. Did it come by mail or was it a carrier company?

Oddly enough the books ordered in the UK seem to come faster than the ones ordered in North America no doubt because the UK has a lot less territory to cover being a tiny country in comparison.

Anyway I am very pleased it has arrived. In actual fact the first 40 pages are the slowest. It gets really good from now on.

Ah! The good old Royal Mail! I remember in the old days that the quality of this service was superb in comparison with other countries. People tell me it has gone downhill since then but that just might be the tendency for British people to moan and groan about something.

I do know the postal service in North America is nowhere near as good. Mind you the phone system in Canada is fantastic. Far better than the USA and Britain.

That is quite a surprise considering I am not a fan of Paul Wilson. I suppose I had better be nice about him from now on. I must say that being a distinguished author is a bit of a strain.

I was rather hoping that there would be a review here sooner or later. I found the book to be hugely entertaining with seemingly endless humorous stories of activities in various UK and overseas cities. What really surprised me were the chapters towards the end where Mark opens up on personal and painful matters concerning the woman who captured his heart. Not at all like the Mark Lewis we've come to know on TM and other forums.
