Magic In strange situations

Postby Nic Castle » Nov 4th, '10, 21:11

I was reading a thread about magic with hoolians and it got me thinking. What strange situations have you used/performed magic.

I was attacked whilst serving as a police officer and ended up being retired due to ill health. As well as physical injuries I had severe PTSD. I was in therapy with a psychologist and had a Community Psychiatric Nurse. The pstchologist had encouraged me to practice magic and I fond I learned quite quickly.

I had to visit the CPN once a week and ended p performing mgic to him for half an hour to an hour and never had any therapy sessions with him other than performing. People could not believe what went on in these sessions that I was entertaining the NHS Staff.

It is not easy learning enough new material for that every week, but was probably the best therapy available for me

I agree. I know that doing and practising magic is a wonderful way of dealing with stress.
I think your therapist was very shrewd getting you to perform every week
and deserves a medal. He probably got lots of amusement out of it as well!

When I worked at a bank all the difficult customers were sent my way. By the time I was done I always showed them a little magic. Usually ending with a business card production of some sort. My manager always comented on how now matter what the situation it was very rare that the customer left my cubicle upset.

That explains a lot. Magic is a form of therapy.

Either way, I'm still insane.

But seriously, it is very stress relieving.
