Basically you ask someone to think of any colour AND any playing card. Next a text message is sent to a psychic friend asking him to guess what they are. A reply comes back 100% correct. Magician doesn't touch the phone. Hands off magic. No motion sensor, no voice recognition and no icon swiping. Uses a never before used priniciple. Fundamentally I don't think that any effect using obvious technology will be powerful, but the idea of using the standard text feature is a clever idea. I'll post a review later on.

I don't get it.

You ask someone to name any colour and any card. You text someone and they text back with the correct colour and card. It's a good method, but it has it's issues.

Good news...

Version 1.1 has just gone live on the app store. Go update if you own it or if you don't own it, now is a great time to purchase the improved Magic SMS.

In version 1.1 the default reply has been re-worded but the best part is you can now customise the reply to say what ever you want. Other tweaks added too!

Own an iPhone? We've got ten download codes to give away for the genuinely brilliant (we'd NEVER lie to you) Magic SMS app. It's simple, it's elegant and according to Derren Brown, "beautifully thought through". According to FHM, it'll "make anyone who's had more than two pints in the pub go absolutely batshit crazy".

On the surface, I agree that it's a great magic app. However, I cannot say the same for the support. I emailed an enquiry two months ago and it has so far gone unanswered. Make no mistake - a good app where the developer places little to no priority on customer support suddenly, in my book, becomes a not-so-good app after all.

Replicant I reply to all emails so I have no idea how I could have missed yours. I have had a lot of emails go to my junk folder but I check it regularly.

Please either re email me or let me know your name and date of email so I can check I have it listed in my inbox.

Ok, finished downloading. I really like the method. Exceedingly clever. It's going to be interesting experimenting with this app on the train with innocent bystanders.
