The only reason I did slow it down was to fulfill my suspicions, though I had seen something previously before doing this. Penn's question only confirmed this which made me do the double take.

Also, I would like to state I did not say it was an actual Deck Switch. I believe there are people here more knowlegable than I am on this matter.

I also want to state for the record, I don't think they cheated or lied after reading the opinions here. I just believe they may have not been performing to their normal standards on the night.

Heartily agree about Michael Vincent: an utterly great performer.

My immediate thoughts about the envelope thing was "instant stooge", so I'd love to know which literature I should be reading if it's not.

i dont think stooges were used in Nick Einhorn's act. but wat i will say is the participants wern't as surprised as the audience.

Mathieu Bich very deliberately chose an over-large, proppy-looking box, and removed his deck from it in an unnatural tipping motion - implying that there was some mechanism at play within. This was a very deliberate move to throw P&T off the scent - to the extent that he pasted the word 'NO' inside his ungimmicked box, in full anticipation of Penn calling him on it. Bich very blatently did exactly what M&W are (incorrectly) accused of doing. But Bich got applauded for it, while M&W are being slagged off.

How odd. :(

Spot on, Pete. And, as was mentioned at that time, they avoided asking an obvious question of Mathieu, yet grilled other performers (aka "fishing"). I am delighted for him, of course, but it's more that the rules don't always seem to be followed.

Shame that the knives seem to be out for Morgan and West (as they were for Mr Earl).

Their performing standards were relatively high. I say this because their timing was rather impeccable. But....

The effect could be seen to be "ill-conceived" if you compare it to the DB effect. In his version, the "prop" has a reason. In this version, the prop lacked a good reason, therefore the dodgey movement.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to Gazzo's - what appears to be - cups and balls routine next week. If thats what it is then a trip to Vegas is off the cards. But who cares? Piff has, probably, been the best this series. The entertainment factor will be brilliant!

Now, good night. A few too many beers me thinks.[/i]

Just saw Morgan and Wes.
Thought I recognized them from a video that was put up on here a while ago.

I had thought the same thing.

EDIT:
But I think that is what has been previously suggested.

Wondering if Nick Einhorn used a combination of effects from "Prism" and "Thirteen Steps?" Think I'm nearly there with a method - need to watch it again to be sure!

guys.. why be so obsessed with working out Nicks routine?

I am sure that the only way you can ever work some of it out, is by taking part in the routine, or... wait to see if he releases it.
In the past he has let a few copies of his more sucessfull effects become available to the market.

just remember that some of this excelent routine was down to "free will"

Yeah, go ahead. Perpetuate that whole "magic is a puzzle" mentality. Lord knows not enough laymen do that so we could do with a couple of magi bulking the numbers.

Whoever manages to work it out.....

Well done, pat on the head, here's your Noddy badge...

Now instead of analysing someone else's act, why not spend time working on your own?

Or instead of trying to work out how he did it, work out how you would do it?
