Contents: You are supplied with the miraculous card box, one page printed instructions and the red, velvet drawstring carry bag.
Prop Quality: This is a very nice looking wooden box. There is a large diamond shape inset on the lid of the box using contrasting coloured woods to good effect and it looks like a magic box (but not in a bad way). Definitely a quality looking item.
Initial Thoughts: This is a very old principle, made into a nice wooden box. I like it. This box will let you appear, vanish and switch objects up to the size of a deck of cards or squashed sponge items. Using the box to appear, switch or vanish items is as simple as putting the lid on top and taking it off again.
After Playing for a while: This is something that I am planning to use when I perform close-up magic. My own presentation idea is to show the box empty at the start and then go into an ID / brainwave deck performance. After having the spectator cut and shuffle the ID of cards, I will ask them to place them into the box. The lid is then placed on top of the box and when the lid is removed, the ID of cards is now visible inside the box and can be immediately taken out without any switches or funny business. What you see is what you get.
First Performance: I decided to try the above performance idea as it’s the main idea that I would use it for. The already powerful effect that the ID has one people now has another phase added before the climax. The appearance of the deck is a real audience pleaser, which puts them in a great position to then be slapped round the face by the climax of the ID.
Overall Audience Reaction: Very good. This is a simple idea, but well made and suitable for close up performances.
Pros: Looks great, works well. The miraculous card box can be presented in a close-up, parlour or cabaret performance and has many applications to enhance your magic, mentalism and more.
Cons: The only con is that initially the lid is a little stiff and can be a little fiddly to get off. However over the past few days the lid has loosened and therefore this is no longer an issue.
Value for Money: I think that, despite how nicely this is made, it is a little overpriced. However if this is something you wish to own, you will be very happy with the quality and operation.
