This just sounds completely impossible! :P Wow. I might just have to spring for the 60 bucks for this. Really, Tom, is it that good?

Mike.

If it plays nearly half as well as it reads then it sounds like a real winner, although I would say $60 is alot. I assum ethat that is all for the secret and very little for any "gimmick".

I must say. Very tempting. I await to hear more from you Tom, when you have used it a few times.

Thanks for the revue Tom.
It reminded me of an effect I bought years ago from supreme that did basically the same thing.
Several balloons were inflated, and isolated in a series of plastic rings The rings all being tied together with ribbons.
The spectator is asked to think of one of the balloons, and bang!
It cost a lot less than this effect, but plays just as big. I will have to try and find the gimmick,( or make another, as its very simple) and pop it back into my programme.

could this trick work well in an impromptu environment? (ie a dinner party or social gathering)... is sounds like EXACTLY the kind of thing i love, but i fear it might be a bit inappropriate for the kind of places i end up doing magic...

It sounds like this effect is definately not something that would be presented as a "magic trick", not if the original presentation blurb is used as the basic outline for the supposed method employed. With that in mind, my question Tom would be, "what are the chances in your opinion, of an inquisitive / observant (or should that read troublesome!) audience member detecting the gimmick, either during, or after completion of the effect."?

Coz if they did, you can imagine the rest.

I think that most will agree that this is a very important point for any effect that is presented in such a serious light.

It is worth bearing in mind that with Protocol the magician NEVER touches the balloons...ever!

No pins, poppers, pellets, projectiles...nothing! :D

the magician didnt have to touch the balloons in this version,
it did however use one of the items mentioned above, and a small bit of bent tin.

Tom and Dale, Damn you both! (and I do mean that in a nice way). I'm so intrigued now, that I am tempted to buy it just to find out how!

I'm still not convinced about it being worth $60 though...

OK, so how about a clue as to the size of the gimmick. Is it palmed, carried in a large backpack or left out of sight in the parking lot?

Okay...I've just bought this cos it sounds incredible but I just have a few questions:

Roughly how big is this gimmick?
Can this be done in an offhand kind of way? I mean , can you just tell somone , "Go get two balloons , blow them up" and then you burst them or does it have to be done with the whole story?
Do you have to use 2 balloons (can you use one or 10 for instance)?
Does someone have to be holding the balloon for it to pop?
Does it use a stoodge?
Can you be in one room while the balloons are in another and still make it burst?
Can you burst both balloons?
Do the ballons have to be a certain colour?
Can you do it with your arms folded?
Does the balloon have to be visible? I mean , can you make the balloon burst without being able to see it? Not like facing away from it or anything but say your outside a house and the balloon is inside the house....and there are no windows?

Thanks :D

Call me cynical, but I'm not sure that's entirely true...
