Great news . I like the premise of that program. Very entertaining.

god i hope they do do away with all the revealing methods, i forget the chaps name but they wrote the method on a bit of flash and showed him and him only! Why couldnt they have done that to the others? Maybe use that method for all next time?

Who else thought magicians was a bit kack? First ep was alright.

i can imagine the producers had a hand in what was performed.

A great show, just a pity about the exposure

I'm still looking forward to another series though.

I guess there is a hint from the first series that they might rip mentalists a bit and semi-expose or tip methods no-one who isn't up to the mark should go on. I somehow doubt that is going to happen. I for one will be looking forwards to it and hope that there are not too many magician foolers trying to build or design tricks already.

I really didn't see much in terms of exposure. Mind you, I only watched a couple of the big names (Benjamin Earl, Michael Vincent, and John Archer) on youtube, but the "exposure" didn't go past "false shuffle" and "ring in a cooler"; the former being a concept known to laypeople and the latter being a very obscure term for a deck switch. No good magician is going to lose out on their jobs because of such minor exposures and the fact that it's a popular TV show will make magic that much more popular, so the net effect is probably good for magic...

I had an email from them today about going on the show.

It seems as long as you stay classy, it doesn't really matter that much whether you fool them or not. Michael Vincent, while he didn't fool them, came off really, really well in the show. If you go for it, good luck!

If I could offer 1 piece of genuine advice it would be this:

Make your No1 priority to show your best performance possible.

Make your No2 priority to fool P&T.

If you fool them with a lacklustre performance then in the long run you will do yourself more harm than good. So long as the viewers at home are fooled and love what you do then the show will work to your advantage.

I was fortunate that the show came along when I had something which I had worked in performance wise, was around the right length and it was a new method which as it turned out did 'fool them' (enough)

I absolutely loved the pilot. There was a lot of hubbub on the other forums about the exposure and they could have done better on the mentalist act but overall they didn't give too much away. Maybe Misters P and T will listen to opinion and tone it down in the future... On second thoughts, maybe i should be a comedian! Anyway, i for one can't wait to see some great British magicians getting a chance to be watched by the great unwashed. And if they can fool the two masked magicians (minus masks) then that's a great bonus.
