I can confirm the above good advice - don't spend too long in McDonald's next door! See also http://www.talkmagic.co.uk/sutra398793. ... ht=#398793

Just spoken to SRO (the ticket organisers). They said that on Monday there was a mistake meaning that some people were allowed entry "in the wrong order" and this is why some priority and VIP ticket holders got turned away. But they still advised getting there early. See you tomorrow afternoon (hopefully)!

Yeah I emailed SRO and got the following reply:

Yep - some priority ticket holders were turned away yesterday because of an error in the studio - which should hopefully not be repeated!

We will try to be outside checking people in from around 11am.

The way they did it on Monday was daft. Those with priority tickets could have been checked and issued with the wrist bands almost immediately on arrival. I got the impression that they weren't expecting so many people to turn up so, hopefully, they'll be able to do things more effectively for the rest of the recordings.

Yeah today was very smooth, they had teams going down the queue checking for priority tickets and issuing wristbands, then priority ticket-holders were sent into a different queue, and then you got seated from front to back. Also, they asked us if we wouldn't mind taking part in some of the tricks and if so we were given red wristbands too and seated at the front (I was 2nd row from the front :) But didn't get picked to take part :( )

Had an awesome day. Would have loved to have got one of the promo packs of cards but sadly I've already proposed to my girlfriend, and I don't have a marquee ;)

Not sure if I'm allowed to say who I saw, but there were some elegant deceptions and some bang on card tricks going on today ;)

And for those who saw it too, wasn't that box something special?

 guys its ok..you can say Michael Vincent and Marc Oberon if you want.

There is another thread on here about the show, which is naming the artists seen.

Just dont mention what people did,or hint at how they did.

It spoils it fo the people who didnt go,and bores those who dont give a rats ass about the show.

I don't want to know what Oberon did.
I have hopes!
If it's not what I'm thinking i'll be let down, but it will still probably be gold!

Great acts and show! Even Wossy was funny and not nearly as annoying as I often find him. Seriously looking forward to seeing it aired.

I'm curious though. How did did people get a blue wristband? I applied on-line and got a white (still had a great view though).

They were given out to those who had Priority Tickets.

Just had this email from SRO:
Good morning.

Thank you for booking tickets to attend tonight's (Thursday's) recording of 'Penn & Teller: Fool Us' .

As stated on the tickets, it is our policy to issue to over-issue tickets by a percentage to compensate for the inevitable no-shows.

At this show, there are slightly fewer seats in the final seating rig than were on the original plan and we have also had a better than expected turn-out at the shows this week. Therefore we are looking for a few volunteers to relinquish their tickets for this show and in return be offered a priority note to use against another of our future recordings (not the current series of Penn& Teller).

Can I ask anyone whos been to the filming already what time they arrived to queue?

I was told the gates opened at 11.45, studio doors at 12.15. We, uh, we actually got there before anyone else, at around 10 I guess, chilled in the McDonalds, wandered around Lidl and maplins to kill some time. There was a small queue by 10.30. By 11.45 there was a massive queue all down the street. I would say get there between 1 and 2 hours before the gates open to be absolutely sure of getting a seat. But, you know, they have a team of people walking down the queue getting wristbands to people with priority tickets, so as long as you're there half an hour before gates open I'd reckon you should be fine. We were spending £100 between us on the train - didn't want to take any risks so got there mega-early.

edit: Oh, also top tip: They might come along asking if you'd like to be picked to take part and if so you get to sit in the front few rows. YMMV, but my view was obstructed by camera crew, and angles weren't perfect in the front row. I can't say what it was like more towards the back, but it's something to consider. It's not a massive studio so you won't have a bad view from the back. For example, I couldn't really see Vincent's performance except on the screens because the table was too high for the front rows to see properly, and almost the whole of Oberon's main performance was obscured by a camera guy standing right in front of me :( Also I was on the end so I could see some things I wasn't supposed to. But it was still a wonderful experience!

And therein lies the question....

How did they get on the priority list rather than the peasants?

What did your email say? I thought white bands were for people who'd just turned up randomly? I just filled out the same form as everyone else and got a priority ticket...

Check your email from them, if the top says E-ticket, you are getting a green wristband and are going to want to get there mega early. If it says "Priority e-ticket" at the top, you can afford to get there about an hour after everybody else and still get in.

The logical explanation I gave myself was they know they have N amount of seats. So they issue N amount of "Priority" tickets. They also issue mabe Nx.50 regular tickets. These guys are "standby audience" in case any of the "priority" guys don't/can't make it.

You all line up, they come out, ask your name, find out if you are priority or regular, give you the corresponding wristband. I had a green wristband and so had to wait for all the blue guys to go in, luckily I got there mega early and so had the third green wristband issued, (they were numbered) so when they had got all the blue guys in, they count how many seats are left, and let in that number of green guys in numerical order.

The brilliant part about my experience, was I originally had a buddy coming with me but he couldn't make it, so I was going it solo, as I was walking across the floor to the bleachers/nosebleeds, an usher asked if anyone happened to be on their own, I said I was, so she grabbed me out of line, and plonked me in this random spare seat three rows from the front surrounded by all these people who had said "yes I am willing to be on camera" (and so were issued with additional red wristbands FYI)
I can't wait to see that episode to see myself grinngin like an idiot as they keep asking the folks in my section to help out.
