Wow! Fair play. I'm just behind you forthe length of time I've been doing magic so I look forward to hitting that skill level! :) I love the fast colour change. I do it slower than that but think it looks great done quick! :)

Look forward to seeing more and I want to start posting videos myself! :)

Thanks for the positive comments :)

Here's a quick vid I recorded with the way I do the colour change now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsXA8if-Pmo

It's literally done in one take, outside of a routine and without any practise beforehand, so it's a bit messy, but hopefully you can see enough of the new technique in it, I think it's much improved. (I know I need to work on pulling the right number of cards off, as you can see an indifferent card at the back of the deck after I make the change. That's something that'll come with more practice.)

I chop and change the way I do the ECC, sometimes I let it stand on it's own as a quick "watch this" type of thing, other times I'll do it as part of a routine, like an ambitious card or something, or I'll get up close and do it really slowly and have some fun moving my hand around the deck a few times before I make the change - as in, take the 2nd card like you do, then literally wave my hand all over the deck saying woo, wheee, waaaa etc and only then snap the card into place. Bit of hamming it up never hurts ;) .

Yeah. Thanks again for all the great feedback!

Could you please please please tweak how you do your Erdnase (Houdini) colour change so that you are hiding that forward motion of the top card. One of my pet peeves in magic is people that do that colour change by starting off with openly doing that. It is described very nicely in Card College with how to do it all invisibly. That and the card at the back was very visible, need to find some way to eliminate that as well. Other than that, very nice.

Yep I was aware of that. On a good day I'll do it slightly differently so the movement isn't so obvious (explained via PM). Good criticism though, thanks :)

Very good performance. You seem to have a good demeanour about you.I'd be interested to see how you interact with people.I'd love to see a video of a live performance. From the video it seems like you care more of presentation and interaction than the trick. Not grasping for words as you worry about your sleights.

Interaction and presentation are the most important things in my eyes. The trick is just an excuse for both of them in my opinion and it looks as if you know that.It took me years of boring people with magic to realise that.

Then again I'm probably way off and your possibly the worst performer ever only producing 3 jacks instead of 4 hehehe;):D

Heh heh, yep, busted

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. Yeah, I'd like to see a live video of me too, it'd help me to see where I need to improve. Thing is I've exhausted my supply of credulous friends and so now I must stalk the streets in search for suppliant spectators to surprise with sinister sleights ;)

I try not to have my routine nice and cleanly separated into "Ok, here's a trick ... now here's another trick ... now watch this trick" because no-one enjoys watching tricks - people want to see magic, and to be honest most of the magic happens between or after the tricks. I saw Derren Brown's Svengali last night (yay) and the magic is only really now settling in as I go over it in my head, what he did becomes less and less possible.

I'm still grappling with the question of "where does the magic come from?" from an audience perspective. Am I a mind reader? A transcendental being? A card sharp? A gambler? A comedian, or simply a trickster? One thing I don't want to be is something other than myself, so it's a hard question to answer.

@TDGinge I'd love to hear your thoughts on the queen :)

If you'd rather PM me, that's fine. I don't mind brainstorming about things to do with my performance/routine/etc on the open forum, especially for original ideas, but I'm sure there are other people who would rather keep things private. If it's a solid gold idea than I can understand not wanting to share it in public ;) For instance I sometimes start writing a reply on here, and then think "Actually this is bloody good", so I save it for myself ;)

I do have a duplicate regular Qh.
