Hi all,

TRAILER: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzrquJf9 ... e=youtu.be

I apologise for spamming, hopefully you'll understand the reasons.

A couple of years ago, my friends made a feature film. They secured a professional cast and crew with a communal belief in the script, who worked for virtually no money, and have got to the point of a commercial release in Scotland. The budget was £50k.

"Fast Romance" will be shown in Cineworld cinemas throughout Scotland from 1st July, for two weeks only. There is international interest and a DVD deal on the cards, brokered over the past two Cannes film festivals, but EVERYTHING hinges on it doing well in its native country. Please go and see it in the cinema. If you have a Cineworld card, it will cost you nothing.

This is my review, written as a damn cynical Glaswegian:

"Fast Romance is both modern and timeless, a genuinely funny, upbeat, uplifting film that engages effortlessly without being overly sentimental. Its stars are ordinary, everyday people - not the airbrushed models who populate most Hollywood offerings - and every character is entirely believable, as are the situations in which they find themselves. Set in Glasgow, Fast Romance does the city proud, full of shots depicting the architecture that helped earned us the City of Culture title and making excellent use of notable local landmarks as backdrops and settings. With some of Scotland's finest actors (Dave Anderson, Barbara Rafferty, Juliet Cadzow, Alison Peebles) and a host of talented newcomers, Fast Romance absolutely deserves to be seen on a grand scale - it is one of THE warmest, endlessly watchable romantic comedies, and it can stand proudly beside such Scottish classics as Gregory's Girl, Local Hero, Restless Natives, The Wicker Man, Orphans, and Trainspotting."

The director and producers are pitching it as Gregory's Girl meets Sex In The City. It definitely has the charm of Bill Forsyth's films, I can't comment on the other reference.

With a budget of heehaw, the marketing for this is being done almost entirely within Cineworld, and by word of mouth. This is where you can help, if you are so inclined.

- Watch the trailer, share it, send it to everyone and anyone it might appeal to.

- "Like" the facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/fastromance

- "Attend" the cinema release here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=226075967419026

- Take the seconds required to "share" either link on your facebook page.

- Go and see the film when it is released on 1st July, in any Cineworld in Scotland. It will hopefully secure a wider UK release at a later date.

This film was made by several hundred people who invested their time, energy, money (it was entirely financed by private investment) and faith in a strong script, strong cast, and good director.

It will premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival this week, and of course we hope there will be publicity and press interest/articles on the back of that.

Meantime, if you wouldn't mind having a look at the trailer, and maybe liking or sharing links if you're on facebook, that would be massively appreciated.

I will try not to bump this too often, but will link to any positive press that comes in, and post reminders as we approach 1st July.

Thanks for reading.

Jordan.
