I usually have Twisted Sisters and The Cardiologist Deck with me. Both are relatively easy to perform yet are very effective. I also carry a couple of coin tricks and a TT or two - just in case. :D

Twisted sister for me but ' The Power of the Crystal' is a very close second, performed with 4 ESP cards (3 of them cut in half).

A great routine taking around 8 minutes that freaks them out - big time

I like The Ultimate 3 Card Monte by Michael Skinner, also I cary Ace's in their faces. I have been thinking about getting the cardiologist deck by Tomas Medina, anybody here uses it?

I use it a lot. It's very easy to use - there's nothing complicated to learn (unless you want to try some of the more advanced card revelations) - if you can riffle-shuffle, you can use this deck. In fact, if your spec can riffle shuffle, that's even better.

I'm with Luker21 on this one.

Twisted sisters NEVER fails to blow people away and is by far the best packet trick and if you need to do a deck switch then this is the perfect one to do between the switch.

very true. It is excellent for deck switches but even on its own its special. It has this little card shaped place in my heart.

Personally I would rather my spectators believed that what I had done was impossible even with amazing sleight of hand leaving them with the impression that they had witnessed magic but I see where you are coming from.

When I first started learning card sleights I was one of those snobby (and probably quite stupid) purists who looked down slightly on anything gaffed but really gaffs are the very best way to achieve a lot of things (though I do like to use sleights if I can do what is required easily as they do have the advantage of finishing clean usually, even if this isn't neccessarily a big advantage)

My favourite packet trick has to be LIGHTNING LADY

available from Magicworld here http://www.magicworld.co.uk this is a fantastic effect especially if you have time to find a good place to plant the "lady". I like to slip it into bags or other personal item of my visitors/audience then after a few other tricks move onto the LL. I'm sure I've reviewed this somewhere on the site.

relatively small amount? very relatively? extremely relatively? are we talking Einstein? If so, roy waltons Card Warp is brilliant.

Two cards, can be borrowed, turn inside out with no fishy moves, and can even be given out as a souvineir. Brilliant

My favourite packet trick, I'm ashamed to say, I cannot recollect its name. I have an envelope containing 4 queens and whichever one the spectator chooses it is facing up wheras the other three are facing down. I have used this more than anything in the last 10 years or so. Its a cheap simple packet effect but my routine using it lasts well over 5 minutes.

Second to that I would go for Card Warp although to purists it may not class as a packet trick.

I'm another Twisted Sisters person :D. I also regularly use Color Monte for a quick "How did he do that?" reaction.
