inside out £10 note

Postby ultimatecreate » Jun 21st, '11, 20:42

hey guys,

I've seen a lot of 'inside out' dollar bills on some of the videos online.

Anyone know where we can source £10notes with the same effect? Do they look realistic simply scanned and crumpled?

Cheers,
Alex

you need to look for Mismade bills, rather than inside out bills.

now these are made by getting sheets of bank notes directly from the mint, and cutting them out in the wrong places. ( between the bills, as opposed to the bill)
This might be legal in the states. I dont think you can do it in the UK.

but,i might be wrong.

either way,i dont think i have ever seen a british miss made bill.

a quick google shows that the american version,is almost always made from a 1 dollar bill. Remember that this is actually 4 x 1 dollars.
you can get a missmade 10 euro note.

however this costs more than 45 euros to buy.. because it takes 4 X 10 euro notes to make.

I am taking a punt, but i bet you dont want to spend 50 quid on one. :)
(because thats what it would cost)

Nah it wouldn't; it would use 4 quarters. as long as you half over half a bill the bank will replace it with a new one. 4 bills = 4 separate quarters, with 4 3/4 bills left ready to be replaced by the bank :)

Ah...dont forget that you loose bills from the edges of the sheet when cutting the things out.

They're not available, Ive been looking for years. Its a real pity as its a great effect.
There was talk over at the cafe a few months ago that someone purchased a few off ebay, i doubt it was actual misamade bills though, more likely some sort of photo copy. While a copy may look good I dont think it would feel like a genuine note, which kind of defeats the purpose - the inside out bill is so unusual looking it has to be held to really be appreciated.
In the States the sheets of uncut bills can be purchased from the treasury.

Monopoly money could work well. Rather than pretending a copy is real, just use something which doesn't claim to be real...

Just a thought...
