Super-visual quickies

Postby pcwells » Jul 6th, '11, 10:51

Hi all!

I need to make a strong impression in a very short space of time at an upcoming meeting/interview/audition.

Most of my repertoire is relaxed and chatty.

I need something eye-popping, super-visual and snappy.

For the first time in ages, I'm tempted to buy something gimmicky off the shelf of my nearest online store, but need recommendations.

Any suggestions? Close-up and stand-up effects are welcome!

Cheers,

Pete

It's a nice routine, but I trust you jest.

I was thinking more along the line of a 'hi, how ya doing? BOOM! IN YOUR FACE!' kind of thing.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Good call on Extreme Burn! That's exactly the kind of thing I'm after on the close-up side.

My style doesn't suit canes, unfortunately. But it's that kind of instant ta-dah that I'm after. :)

ID? It always works as an ice breaker when I need one, it can be played long or short and always gets a great reaction

What about the burning business card 'Hot Leads' by Jim Pace? It's not a routine in itself but it's an introduction they'll never forget! And you can follow that up with something visual and snappy.

Just make sure they don't have over-sensitive fire alarms or sprinkler systems where you perform!

A very quick Freedom Pack, 100 Dollar Bill switch. They aren't too complicated, but that's all I know in terms of quick and snappy...

Just Googled 'Freedom Pack', and it looks like a very versatile kicker for any card routine.

CUPS strikes again!

Thank you!

Glad to be of help!

With regards to Freedom Pack, I wouldn't be happy doing it surrounded, but for the kind of thing you're talking about I'd say it'll do well.

If you have like one and a half minutes i'd say chop cup routine with 2 lemons in the end.
