Recommended Reading Street Magic Card Rountines / Card Contr

Postby MikeMagician » Aug 16th, '11, 21:53

Hey guys.

Been looking around and since I got back into Magic from a break, all I can seem to do is control a selection by just performing the classic pass. Do you know of any recommended reading/video material that can teach me various card controlling techniques to make it more convincable?

Also was wondering, what card rountines can you suggest I learn? I made a variation of the ACR I have always used, but apart from that I'm stuck when people ask for another trick.

I have all the beginners books and such. I just wish I never took time off the art :P

Cheers guys.

Most people are going to say Royal Road to Card Magic. I'd recommend this myself but also add...

Card Control - Arthur H. Buckley
Expert Card Technique - Hugard & Braue
The Expert at the Card Table - S.W Erdnase

All three can be ordered from thebookdepository.com for less than 20 quid and will keep you busy for years

Could you list some card controlling techniques to control the card to the top? I just need some visual media or something to remind myself. Like a list of all the card controls you know would be more beneficial :) But bought the Erdnase book just now online.

I just want a good controlling effect, as it looks like your putting their card into the deck, or somewhat similar to fit into an ACR.

Double undercut, Injog shuffle. You only need to know 3 or 4 IMO.

Basic Card technique DVD Richard Kaufman. It was invaluable to me.
