Bottle thru Body by Tony Clark

Has anyone purchased and used this item. It looks good on the video on The Trickery website. The effect looks very dramatic. I'm pretty sure I can guess how its done though and the items one would need for this don't seem to justify the price of $42.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who's had this or something similar. (Can also be used for bottle through table as well). Is the price justified? Is there another, cheaper version of the same thing around?

to be honest i think this looks blatantly obvious as to how its done and would say that the price is in no way justified. if you watch the demo again you can see the method used so the only thing you would be buying is simply a rehashed manuscript of an effect thats been out since time began and possibly a gimmick that is easily obtainable for free

Good quality vid and a nice selection of attractive young lady volunteers eager to let their midriffs be the focus of attention - but not worth the asking price. All the 'moves' were so blatant and I get the impression that this comes under the heading of 'Making a swift buck'. As you've both said, this is all so obvious and perhaps just a rehash of a well known effect.

If you want to see it done right then see Fay Presto who performs bottle thru table to the very highest standard without the need for the B&Q aardvarks*!

Bottle thru body

Bottle thru midriff.
Thanks for that. As a relative newbie I don't know how long some of these tricks have been around. You've confirmed my suspicions about how it works though and the price seems absolutley outrageous for what it is. I think the trick has potential and could be good for parties. I was at one on Sunday where I could have used this, but it was a bit too cold for midriffs.
I may take a trip to B&Q as you suggest and try out my non-existent bottle cutting skills.

Yonks ago K-Tel or Ronco sold a device for 'processing' wine botles to make ashtrays and other fun stuff (!) out of them. I'm sure a steady hand with an aardvark* and a candle flame is all that's required - but don't quote me!

Actually, you can get all purpose aardvarks* from QVC, DIY shops and craft fairs etc - they would do, er, what you want them to do.

# aardvark - used in place of the correct word!

This one is very easy

I think this trick is very easy. They use the ************* with an **********. You all see what i mean?

Mesage from Mods: Yes we know exactly what you mean but you've overlooked a vey important point - on TM we don't reveal how things are done, hence the editing above.

Its a nice idea, very angle sensitive though.
I would buy it for the routine, and a set of Nielsen gimicks for the table, and you have most things covered.

you're like Yoda.you dont say much, but what you do say is worth listening to....

I've just thought over it, and thinking it will be better to make the bottle goes though a glass table, isn't it?

Is it just me, or does the quality of the performance, and the vid, not make it look outragously overpriced, and rediculously easy to perform? I would not personally buy it based on those two aspects alone!

Bottle Thru Body

Postby Allen Tipton » Nov 29th, '05, 17:08

:) I purchased this a couple of years ago and found it too obvious. I only used it twice. The basic move though easy is tricky to do convincingly even though the DVD is so clear & well shot. The gimmicks are worth the price (usually £34) IF you want to do bottle thru table. They are light and completely realistic and made in plastic..so they are safe.
However it's not for really me and it will go into the Nottingham Guild of Magicians Table Top Sale, THIS THURSDAY 1st. Dec at £15.

PS. 2nd Dec. It was the first item snapped up.

Believe me, speaking as someone who spent hours going to different hardware stores trying to get an appropriate saw/file & then knackering myself by spending over an hour actually making the gimmick & then at the end having one that wasn't level it is WELL WORTH the price to buy the Nielsen version which is what I did in the end.

You may think it looks obvious but it's not to the public. Reactions are great & they say that they visibly see the bottle melting through the table.
