I agree with the position Flood is demonstrating. To say that the action of turning a card over in order to put it somewhere does not belong in a logical sequence of events, is akin to saying that having the woman step into the box to cut her in half is a step too far removed from the audience.
In a certain context, yes it could be deemed as out of place. That context is where all you do is turn it over and then hand it out, or place it down. If instead, you turn it over

"Do me a favour, would you hold your hand out like this.....?"

Suddenly there is a perfectly acceptable reason for the card being placed onto the deck, thanks to our dressing up of the sequence of events. Not only have you justified it, you have also hidden it making it difficult for the audience to even recall later on that the card even went near the deck.

There are so many more magical methods than "moves" and not many of them are really all that difficult.

I also second Bruce's post regarding the Al Schneider tutorials, an absolute goldmine. Incidentally the source for the DL I use day in day out.

Its seems to me that as soon as you justify the movement, like putting the card on the top, pretty much anything could be made natural. You could justify turning your hand over for a glide by asking them to turn their hand over.

I guess it also depends on your style of card handling. I have gained myself a reputation for doing fancy stuff and slightly over flourishing which means that a Blaine DL looks entirely natural for me, whereas a strike DL probably isn't.

I also agree with Floods opinion, and this is why I love TM. Lots of great opinions and brilliant discussions about magic! (I don't know any magicians personally, so this forum is great for me )
