Is it only me who thinks that the whole video sequence was pre-recorded?

I really enjoyed the show - a lot. I don't know why people have hated it so much

Yes, if you sign up to one of Derrens shows you know what you're in for but there is no need to be so rude or abrupt explaining that point.

Sorry, didn't realise we had to finish every statement with an 'x'. I'm not yelling at anyone, or calling anyone stupid, I'm pointing out errors with their 'facts' and their opinions, whilst trying to provide them with evidence as to why I believe my 'facts' and opinions are the more likely correct. That's basic discussion.

Doing so with a slightly sarcastic, facetious and/or witty retort is common on forums; I've seen a lot worse on these particular forums, I've even seen worse in this thread if you care to scroll up. I do not intend to offend, but if some words on a computer screen; which have actually been coherently presented, but perhaps lacking in warm and fuzzy phrases which you may prefer to see, have at all offended anyone then all I can suggest is taking a step back and pondering whether one person's opinion on the internet is worth getting emotional over.

Yeah I felt like it was. There was the 'test' at the beginning where people scratched their noses etc on Derren's cue, but obviously this could have been retrospectively set-up. If it were the case it would suggest that perhaps the audience didn't ALWAYS go for the negative option, but to be honest, they probably did.

And who is getting emotional here? I'm not weeping into my teacup as i type, and i not did i give the impression of doing so, i said you were rude.
I know leading people to believe something other than the truth is the nature of your business but i don't think i did that.

No, I think I got the point, but I might not have worded my response in the best way.This is what I was trying to get at: Why is it that people on magic forums can't believe that people who practice magic can't enjoy something through "layman's" eyes? I'm just a hobbyist (like a lot of forum users I suspect), I can still be amazed and fooled by Derren and other magicians, but if something's a damp squib I should be able to say so without having my opinion made void because I do a few magic tricks in my spare time.

But as you say, these shows aren't about magic. My problem with the Game Show was that it was presented as an experiment, when it was quite obvious that the voting audience was being led in the direction Derren wanted them to go. That's not an experiment. I certainly couldn't out perform him in the showman stakes, but I'm sure I could come up with a more fair method to prove the point that was being made. As, I'm sure he could ... but that wouldn't have made good TV.

If he's going to continue to ride this 'educating the audience' high horse he's on at the minute, he needs to be more honest about it.
