Thing is, I've performed it so often that it now looks a natural move to the lay and it's never been questioned. I can't remember where I got this method from but if I do have a chance to catch a break, I still turn the card the same.

Making it smooth is important though, so make the whole action flow into a single, continuous movement. Don't pause at the parts where the card is pulled back or pushed over the top.
