Split deck patter

Postby keymaster » Nov 19th, '04, 09:01

g'day all
i just bought a new split deck, and ive got all the handling and what not sorted out, im just having trouble with making up a story to go along with it. Ive read some stuff about love compatibility, but that doesn't really interest me... anyone have any suggestions??

Hi guy (or gal, don't want to be sexist, or presumptious) :)
One way I enjoy coming up with new patters is to just picture in my head what the audience notices (step by step), then do word associations (what's the first word that comes into my mind when I watch this part of the trick...). I write several of these down for each part of the trick, then just read through them, and, surprisingly often, some of the word associations will suggest a little story.
I like this method because the patter feels to have a better, more natural "fit" for the trick. Of course this could just be personal bias based on my own love of my own creations
