I think this Teller article was in the context of Sleights Of Mind by Macknik, Martinez-Conde and Blakeslee, which is a popular psychology book about the neuroscience of magic, and what it reveals about our brains. It remains, for me, one of the most fascinating reads about magic, and I'd certainly recommend it.
