Music?

Postby MagicBill » Mar 14th, '12, 19:17

Hi Talkmagicers...

I am in the process of having a new showreel put together but I am struggling music-wise.

Looking for something edgy and contemporary with a beat and no lyrics. Anyone got any suggestions?

Much appreciated!

The only music I've been listening to recently is by the awesome Rabbit Junk and their most recent single (Bubble) includes an instrumental version that it might be worth checking out if you're in the mood for some highly deviant electro-pop. It's a little bit different from their usual metal, hip-hop, techno, industrial stuff but it's been buzzing around my head for the last six weeks or so. You can pay however much you want for it from the glitch mode recordings website here: http://www.glitchmode.com/rabbit-junk/ not to mention getting a couple of other tracks for the same price if they tickle your fancy.

Also found RJD2 (the Mad Men title theme is taken from one of their albums) - some amazing tracks there, and Sub Focus as well... 8)

You can never go wrong with some good, old-fashioned psychobilly. Rock n roll enough to be middle of the road, punk enough to have an edge. Try some Stray Cats, The Meteors, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, Vince Ray & The Boneshakers or The Klingonz.

How about this, for example? http://youtu.be/YNxNLNmio6U

Frenzy are a good band for psychobilly. I hear their guitar player is a rather splendid chap

I'd go for some DJ Egadz. Its a bit trip-hoppy but good.

I love Frenzy. Well, there aren't many psychobilly bands I dislike, to be honest.
