coin under beer mat revelations

Postby naychandler1 » Mar 27th, '12, 20:55

okay sooo i have my method for having someone placing a coin underneath one of several beer mats and then with my eyes closed being able to tell what mat its under...

i want it to be , almost like a bet situation in which i can guess correctly where the coin is 4 x over.. but i would like some ideas on 'apparent methods' that i can tell my spectator im supposingly doing, instead of just doing one which will look boring .. wink wink.

my first apparent method was for them to hold my wrist lightly while i sweep over the beer mats and do a muscle reading to reveal the whereabouts of the coin..
maybe i could ask for them to say yes over each of the beer mats, or for a last reveal , have them just think of the mat which the coin is under and transmit it to me..???
please say if these ideas arnet very interesting or too perfect to be considered a genuine method

any support on this would be brilliant thankyou....

I personally wouldn't go with the simple thought transmitting process - it just shouts out that you're doing something else.

I think any of the other 2 would work fine. I personally would do the muscle reading, but I'd hold their arm over the mats, instead of them holding yours .... just my thoughts though - I'm sure other people will have different opinions :)

but wouldn't the beer mat be raised slightly off the table by the height of the coin ?

Rather than muscle reading you could use the ideomotor effect from a pendulum. This method would probably work anyway, without you having to do anything as the pendulum would swing differently when they hover it over the mat with the coin. If it does not work then just pretend you saw a movement over the forced mat.
