Gilbreath Principle?

Postby artychris » Apr 25th, '12, 00:47

So... I searched on here and really only found this (cheers Tomo!) ftopic7786.php&highlight=card+concepts" target="_blank

Is there anything else that could be considered definitive about the Gilbreath Principle?

I do a number of things using it in one way or another...will show you next meet.

It's used a fair amount in Nick Trost's books which I thoroughly recommend.

Agreed. Max Maven I believe was supposedly going to release a book on the subject, not sure whether that ever happened. He has lots of
interesting uses scattered through his work.

It's used in a marketed effect I like. Can I name the effect or will that be considered an exposure of method?

No harm in mentioning the name of an effect, I'm just wondering how many casual readers will know what the Gilbreath Principle is?

Excellent. It's used in Up The Ante by Martyn Smith. The effect can be seen on an online video on Magicshop.co.uk but it really does not do it justice, I'm a big fan of this routine

Very few, casual and some more than casual won't know. But a bunch of people are running to look it up.

Thanks for all that everyone, it's very much appreciated!

Anyone know whats happened to Max's book on the subject? I saw him do something rather amazing with cards last year (if anyone else was there, it was after he was interviewed by Eugene Berger) and I'm sure this principle was key to it.
