Although many tricks Oz performs are demos for penguin magic, he actually makes up many variations on other people's tricks. e.g. on his newest DVD "Watch Magic" (I just bought) you can see that he adapts other people's tricks to create his own "ultimate" trick (so to speak).
That's what I think of him anyhow..
